About

Stories were always meant to be walked through

The Bible is full of moments where everything hangs on a choice. Ruth at the crossroads. Peter on the water. Esther outside the throne room. When we read them, we already know how they end, and something about that distance makes them easy to skim.

Parable closes the distance. It places you inside those moments as they unfold, scene by scene, and asks the question the story has always been asking: what will you do? Your choices shape the narrative. The path you walk is yours, and no two journeys come out the same.

What Parable is

An interactive storyteller. Each journey is written for you as you go, tuned to your reading level and language, in an open ended wander, a complete twenty scene arc, or the slow, symbolic Dream mode. Companions travel with you, remember you between stories, and write you a letter when a journey ends.

It is also, quite literally, a Bible. A full reader with translations, search, bookmarks, and narration sits at the center of the app, and any passage can become the doorway into a new journey through Step Into Scripture.

What Parable is not

Parable is not Scripture, and it does not pretend to be. The journeys are imaginative retellings, the kind a good storyteller might spin around a campfire, and they are clearly marked as such. That is why every story links back to the real account, and why finishing a journey invites you to read the original passage in full.

It is not a game to be beaten either. There are no scores, no losing paths, no wrong answers. A streak marks your rhythm, not your rank.

Made with care

Parable began as an iOS app and now lives on the web too. It is free to start, works in many languages, and lets you begin as a guest before you decide to keep your Chronicles. If you have questions, the FAQ is the best place to begin.
